So, the other night, I was given yet another reason to add to the list fo reasons why Ron Paul should resign his campaign for president. Yes, you Ron Paul supporters, before you send me E-mail, please consider what I have written here. If you find it to be false, drop me a line and let me know... but it's not false, and any idiot would have to admit it.
First off, Ron Paul is a total throw-back. He's an isolationist. If Ron Paul were president in the late 30's and early 40's, we'd all be speaking German and talking about what a great cat moron Adolf Hitler was - as he'd have never went to war against such atrocities. Yes, you can cover it with the name "America First" (which is what he calls his ostrich policy), but at the end of the day, it's still the same brand of isolationism. This scares MANY (including me).
Representative Paul is an insider… or at least he’s perceived as being an insider by Joey Average because he holds an office now. Yes, this is a problem it seems as if all of the candidates have, and it’s unfortunate. If a Herman Cain (or anyone who has no political experience) had risen up, they would be embraced as “something different”. And that’s why Paul (and the rest of the field) is perceived of as being “more of the same”.
Finally, Ron Paul’s appearance on television’s “Scooby Doo” as a guest villain didn’t do him any favors. His classic line “I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids and that dog!” made him more than memorable. Type-casting is always a problem, and many have difficulty separating television from reality. Folks who suffer from this blurred line between reality and a fictional television world will never vote for Paul.
With all that said, I call on Representative Ron Paul to fold his campaign and move along.
